Counselor Connection
Collaboration is essential for school counselors. This mini-blog is for my counselor colleagues to share ideas, lessons and inspiration
A couple other Pendergast counselors and I have worked together to develop lesson plans that correlate with the Julia Cook books. Our district practices the Boys Town Well Managed Classroom program and her books are fabulous with their connection to social skills. We use these books with 2nd graders but then can easily be adapted to use with other grades. Most of the books can be purchased at a very reasonable price on Amazon. The lesson plans we developed for each book are at the bottom. Feel free to download and use them! The lesson plans are not perfect, but they are enough to give you a great idea of where to start! * I realize Julia Cook did not write the "How Full Is Your Bucket" Book...but it was a book we used with this grade level as well and I wanted to include the lesson plan for you.

Do you use the Howard B. Wigglebottom books? I found this page that has great supplemental activities/lessons/videos/songs to go along with these cute books. Check it out here. A colleague shared this great website with me the other day. There are excellent resources available here for working with students coping with Grief and Loss. |
