I am passionate about working with young women to help increase self-esteem and to learn to love their bodies. Here I will share videos and articles that inspire me in hopes of inspiring the girls of Franklin high.
This week, Alicia Celis from Teen Lifeline came to speak to us again. She talked to our girls about how to handle stress in their lives in positive ways. "Stress is what you feel when you are worried or uncomfortable about something. t can be something new in your life or a challenge for you. This worry in your mind can make your body feel bad. You may feel angry, scared, afraid or excited." 602-248-TEEN Students can call to speak to trained teenage counselors at Teen Lifeline anytime. 25 Tips on Living with Stress 1. Talk to someone you truly trust. 2. Write your feelings down. 3. Work off the stress - EXERCISE, take a walk. 4. Do something you enjoy (read, listen to music, watch TV) 5. Get enough sleep and rest. 6. Eat well and try to eat healthy foods. 7. Imagine a healthy place. 8. Count to 10. 9. Take deep breaths in and out. 10. Joke and keep a good sense of humor. 11. Try not to be negative and avoid putting yourself down. 12.Take time out for yourself. 13. Don't put off relaxing. 14. Know when you are tired. 15. Do one thing at a time. 16. Manage your time better. 17. Plan ahead. 18. Write things down to help you remember. 19. Don't put things off, like homework and chores. 20. Believe that you can do it! 21. Know that you can't be perfect at everything, just try your best! 22. Learn to accept what you cannot change. 23. Avoid self-medication (smoking, drinking, doing drugs, unhealthy eating and negative coping skills). 24. Develop a hobby; get involved in activities that interest you. 25. Take one day at a time.
