Counselor Connection
Collaboration is essential for school counselors. This mini-blog is for my counselor colleagues to share ideas, lessons and inspiration
A couple other Pendergast counselors and I have worked together to develop lesson plans that correlate with the Julia Cook books. Our district practices the Boys Town Well Managed Classroom program and her books are fabulous with their connection to social skills. We use these books with 2nd graders but then can easily be adapted to use with other grades. Most of the books can be purchased at a very reasonable price on Amazon. The lesson plans we developed for each book are at the bottom. Feel free to download and use them! The lesson plans are not perfect, but they are enough to give you a great idea of where to start! * I realize Julia Cook did not write the "How Full Is Your Bucket" Book...but it was a book we used with this grade level as well and I wanted to include the lesson plan for you.

Thank you so much for sharing!! Do you have examples of the silly directions cards or coloring sheet you use with The Worst Day of My Life Ever?

LOVE THIS for my kindergarten students! I am the school counselor. I am just looking for the "teachers guide" that is referenced (ask student questions on page 15 of teachers guide).

Hi Mandy - I had the Teacher's Guide/Activity book to many of Julia Cook's books. You can find them on Amazon for under $15. Which book are you referencing?

Great job for publishing such a beneficial web site. Your web log isn’t only useful but it is additionally really creative too.
