I co-wrote and team taught these lessons several years ago with a 6th grade teacher. Our school could not afford to purchase the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens for all 90 of our 6th graders so I turned each chapter into a Powerpoint and Lesson. Below you will find Powerpoints/Handouts (be sure to read the comments sections for notes). Thea teacher and I presented at the annual AzSCA Conference on this topic (along with 3rd grade teacher). A copy of our presentation is also attached a the bottom. UPDATE - I have received many comments about these lessons over the years! I'm so happy that people are finding these resources useful. I created these, along with a 6th grade teacher, 5 years ago when I worked in a different position. The Chapter 1 activity that isn't working is saved in an old Google Drive that I no longer have access to. There is a page in Chapter 1 that that says the "10 worst quotes of all time". I typed them up, cut them up and handed them out to students to read aloud. The other comment I get is about the video clips. Those are from an old MTV show that is no longer on the air. "If you only knew me". I'd suggest looking for videos on Empathy or seeing another person's perspective to compliment that lesson. I no longer update this website but wanted to THANK YOU for visiting. Your comments and outreach have kept me from deleting it. I'm glad it is still a useful tool.
